We have been able to head to the beach a few times this year! The first time was with the Merkley clan while they were visiting from Utah! We headed east and stopped when we had a good deal on a hotel and the perfect view of the ocean!!! A few members of my family had never seen the ocean, so it made it all the better to see them enjoy it!
Here is the "bay watch" photo...see the nice looking lifeguard in the back, don't worry the girls always knew where he was. Just in case!
Alesa really liked watching her feet disappear into the sand. She really DIDN'T like when she got sand on her hands and eventually perfected being able to stand up without using her hands!

While we were there, we spent every spare moment by the ocean and then every other spare moment at the hotel pool. For a family that grew up in the "desert," it was incredible how much we all enjoyed hanging out in the water.
Another big highlight was watching Melanie, Cassie and Cami squeal in delight at each dolphin they saw jump out of the water! Hilarious!
