My cousin Cody, the son of these two wild and crazy yay-who's below, is in the Air Force. In honor of him and all the others who serve in this branch of the military, we decided it was only fitting to visit the Air Force Memorial. I had never been there and I liked it so much, I'm going to make it a regular stop on the Wheeler-run Tours of DC!
Well, Cody...I don't know if you ever read this, but I want to tell you how proud and honored I am that you choose to serve our country. Growing up with you, this was not a path I saw coming, however, it is one that has been lucky to have you.
I currently work with many WWII veterans and am constantly amazed at their respect and loyalty to this nation and all it's citizens; I am sure that this holds true for you. I have worked with a few vets from the Air Force, the US Army Air Corps and even original Tuskegee Airmen and can feel the passion they have for this branch of the military. Whenever we honor the military, I think of you and the service you have given to ensure, not only our nations freedom, but the freedom of so many others.
Cody, thank you for giving your all during your continued service in the US Air Force. I thank you and love you as both your favorite cousin (I'm taking some liberty here...it being my blog and all) and a fellow US citizen. I pray for your safety everyday and hope you know how much you mean to me and my family. Take care cousin.
