"Hello, I am old." -Henry Rollins
I have been feeling this sentiment very acutely this week. It took me over a week to get over a sissy little flu bug; I hit my hand upwards of three weeks ago and it still twinges if I use it just right; and the arm I used to best those 3 teenage boys has been tender now for 8 days and this evening I did something that sent that arm into such excruciating pain that Erin begged me to lay down because she was about to cry just watching me.
WHAT THE CRAP IS UP WITH THAT! I AM ONLY 26 YEARS OLD! EVEN 3 YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE BOUNCED BACK FROM THIS SISSY CRAP IN DAYS IF NOT HOURS OR MINUTES!
I officially protest the aging process and all that goes with it. I may be wiser now, but I long for the days when I could survive on 2 hours of sleep, 2 day old chicken from the back seat of my car, flat Dr. Pepper, 4 brawls, 2 car wrecks, falling down stairs, being kicked in the nether regions, and having a horse step on both of my feet; and all that before noon on a Monday and still go out and play football later that afternoon and chase girls all evening just to do it all again. All of that stuff was not smart, there is little doubt there, but I sure felt a lot better.
